My primary profession of 25 years is as a psychotherapist from a Buddhist informed tradition. Alongside this I have maintained a photographic practice, within which I am now increasingly calling upon my experience of mindfulness and the primacy of relationship to inform my work. This contemplative approach to making photos calls me to more acutely observe what lies beyond that which I just 'see' and to recognise the deeper forces and emotions that come into play. I am, in particular, interested in looking at themes that can be less easily addressed such as trauma, illness and dying.
I am currently studying for an M.F.A. in Photography at the University of Plymouth.
